What’s more disturbing?
The fact that a highly paid professional athlete doesn’t know the rules to his own sport?
“I’ve never been a part of a tie. I never even knew that was in the rule book,” McNabb said after the game. “It’s part of the rules, and we have to go with it. I was looking forward to getting the opportunity to get out there and try to drive to win the game. But unfortunately, with the rules, we settled with a tie.”
The overtime rule isn’t an obscure one. It was adopted fully by the NFL in 1974 and 17 games have since ended tied. The Eagles have been involved in four of those games.
“I guess we’re aware of it now,” McNabb said. “In college, there are multiple overtimes, and in high school and Pop Warner. I never knew in the professional ranks it would end that way. I hate to see what would happen in the Super Bowl and in the playoffs.”
Uh, they keep playing if it’s tied in the playoffs or Super Bowl. But McNabb apparently didn’t know that, either.

Or the fact that a 31-year-old millionaire quarterback had never voted prior to this last election - where he basically admitted that he did so because there was a black man on the ballot.
Donovan McNabb grew up in Chicago never believing he would see a black man become president.
Perhaps that was one reason why the 31-year-old Philadelphia Eagles quarterback didn’t register to vote until this election…
“For the first time, I had the opportunity to vote and I can say that I was a part of it,” he said.

Really Donovan? This is the first opportunity you had to vote? At age 31? If I’m doing my math right - it sounds like you could have voted in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, and in 2008. Where were you then?
You know, I always thought Donovan McNabb seemed like a fairly smart guy (I mean he does eat his Campbell’s Chunky Soup). I guess I was wrong.
Personally, I’m more disturbed by McNabb’s inaction when it comes to his civic duty than by his failing to know about the overtime rules.
I almost feel like people should have to vote in local elections and prove that they know how to get involved in their communities before they should be allowed to vote in a federal election for the first time. Or maybe if you haven’t voted by the time you’ve turned 30 you just forfeit your right to vote? Wait, I’m also angry about the uninformed mob mentality youth vote that turned out this election! Maybe we should just bring back 21 as the voting age?
Oh, I’m just babbling… but I really do find it disturbing that so many uneducated voters voted in this election - regardless of their political ideology. I’m also sick of hearing people (basically) admit racism played a part in their vote.

Was Barack Obama elected for all the wrong reasons? It seems that it might be so. Why do I say this? Because I’m a believer in what Martin Luther King, Jr. had to say in his famous “I have a dream” speech.
King talked about a day when African Americans would not be “judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” I’m not certain that’s what happened on Tuesday. I’m becoming more and more convinced that one of the big reasons many went out and voted for Barack Obama is because of the color of his skin.
That’s not progress my friends, that’s just another form of racism. If you look at the content of Barack Obama’s character you see a man with radical ideas that run contrary to much of what our founding fathers fought and died to preserve: freedom itself.
I’m not suggesting that everyone who voted for Barack Obama is a racist by any means. Some voted for him based on his radically left ideology and policies. I’m not sure why they would do this, and I’m not sure a majority did do this. If it was just another white guy with socialist ideas, anti-American statements, and a complete disregard for the constitution and the Judeo-Christian heritage of our country running for president, would he have garnered this many votes? I guess we’ll never know.
I’m basing much of this on the people I’ve heard on television, the news articles I’ve read, and people I’ve talked with in person. These are merely my observations. When I read articles like this one on ESPN, it only reinforces them.
I’m sad to say that I think what we witnessed on Tuesday was an awful lot of people who voted for a man based on the color of his skin, rather than the content of his character (or his lack there of).

I’m absolutely flabbergasted that Americans would send a radical liberal to the White House without any checks and balances. The thought of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi doing whatever they like and imposing their radical values on the entire country leaves me with a sick feeling in my stomach.
Congratulations America: You just set the right to life movement back at least 15-20 years. You elected socialist leaders that I predict will destroy our economy with their rabid spending and government programs. You guaranteed dependence on foreign oil and high gas prices again in our future. Furthermore these liberal scum bags could bring back the “Fairness Doctrine” and potentially put my opinionated blog at risk of being shut down.
Do you realize now that the elected government of France and Germany is more conservative than the United States? Well done. Let’s hear it for the People’s Republic of the United States - proudly promoting more abortions, wealth redistribution, government run health care, $700 billion bailouts, and billions more in new spending while we’re in the midst of an all out economic crisis.

The idiots at these Obama rallies remind me of the idiots who gathered on top of buildings to greet the aliens in the movie Independence Day only to be blown to smithereens by a giant alien laser beam. That’s about what Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi are ready to do to our economy, our energy policy, and our morals in America.
All Hail Nicolae Obama Carpathia!

The House just passed the bailout bill. I’m furious. This thing was chalked full of millions of dollars worth of earmarks and still forces American taxpayers to come up with $700 billion to fund the mistakes of a rotten, broken Congress that not only failed to properly oversee this mess on the Financial Services Committee, but actually enabled Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac to offer these high risk loans. Not to mention the fact that it doesn’t really fix the problems, it patches them. We need a new dam, not a piece of bubble gum to cover up a leak.
Thanks to failed financial institutions and the irresponsibility of both lenders and borrowers hard working responsible Americans who didn’t make mistakes now get to pay for everyone else’s mistakes.
IT’S TIME TO THROW OUT ALL THE FOLKS IN CONGRESS THAT LET THIS HAPPEN - AND THEN DECIDED TO STEAL FROM US IN AN UNPRECEDENTED DISPLAY OF GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION IN THE FREE MARKET.
Welcome to the People’s Republic of America.
Yes, I’m mad.

Barack Obama may be the most arrogant, egotistical, self-serving candidate for president ever. It’s more important that people hear from the next president of the United States?
How about it’s more important that pompous presidential candidates who are currently serving a term in the U.S. Senate focus on this issue which has $700 billion in taxpayer dollars on the line!
Families, small businesses, and all Americans care more about their livelihood and their pocketbooks than they do about hearing Barack Obama’s empty rhetoric on “hope” and “change”.
Quit playing politics and step up to the plate Senator!
Obama is nothing more than an empty suit. He’s the puppet of the Chicago political machine and radical socialists, communists, marxists, and other unseemly folk who have shaped his life.
Wake up America!

I despise idiots in Hollywood. There are a lot of them. Most of these so-called “stars” didn’t graduate high school, let alone college. But, for some reason, America idolizes some of the dumbest people on the planet.
There’s this strange fascination in our culture with following these Hollywood stars’ eating habits and disorders, their abnormal sexual behaviors and relationships, their drug and alcohol addictions, and for some odd reason people also listen to and elevate what they have to say. It’s that last part that is particularly bothersome.
Most of these Hollywood stars have very little credibility and many have a radical agenda that includes bashing on America and the values our nation was founded upon. It’s really not all that surprising considering most of these stars depend on the erosion of traditional values for their livelihood. Hey, if most Americans actually maintained standards of decency and traditional morals how would someone like Brittney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Pamela Anderson, etc., make a living? They wouldn’t.
So these Hollywood celebrities use their spotlight to bash conservatives and those who have traditional values, which by the way, still make up a good portion of the country. Just think, if half of all Americans quit going to the movies maybe we could finally shut these people up!
Here’s a piece of advice for these Hollywood “stars” - Act, don’t give me your views on politics. Sing, don’t waste my time with your agenda. I’m sick of reading articles like these:
Tim Robbins likens McCain spin to Charles Manson
‘Saturday Night Live’ skit suggests Sarah’s husband guilty of incest
Tina Fey wants Palin out of her life after election
This just further enforces what I already believed about a good portion of the celebrities in Hollywood: They’re classless, foolish, and truly cannot relate with average Americans or traditional values. I think the fact that they’re spouting their hatred with such viciousness and at the same time throwing themselves at Barack Obama like he’s the messiah says it all.
So go ahead and vote Barack Obama if you relate with classless, arrogant, uneducated elitists in Hollywood. Vote John McCain if you’re an average hard working American with half a brain, and someone who respects traditional values, cares about family, and genuinely loves America.

Ever since the primaries, when I went after John McCain on the right to life issue, I have patiently waited for a sign of his commitment to this cause. Today my hopes have been rewarded and my fears relieved.
John McCain has picked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his choice for vice president! Palin is ardently pro-life and solid on the social issues that matter to so many of us conservatives. This excellent decision by McCain follows his outstanding answers at Saddleback Church where he clearly stated his belief that life begins at conception, thrilling all of us who have been cautious about his stance on the important issue.
John McCain’s answer was a stark contrast to Barack Obama who proclaimed it was “above his pay grade” to determine when the right to life begins. If Obama is uncertain as to when life begins, why would he not air on the side of caution by supporting life? Barack Obama has a proven record of being pro-abortion.
I’m getting off track… I wrote this letter to congratulate and thank John McCain! I want to let my readers know I’m fully throwing my support behind him, and I’m calling on everyone who cares about the future of our nation, and everyone who cares about protecting life to unite behind this campaign for our future!
I may have differences with McCain on other issues (and make no mistake I’ll continue to bring those issues up at times and keep the pressure on the administration to act in Americas best interests) but the core issues we agree on and the alternative (Barack Obama) is a down right scary proposition for our nation.
I feel as though a motto of St. Augustine is applicable this situation:
Unity, in essentials.
Liberty, in non-essentials.
in all things, Charity.
MCCAIN/PALIN 2008!
