Gay marriage ruling fallout continues… in New York.
May 29th, 2008 | by admin |The war on America’s children and traditional family values rages on in the wake of the California Supreme Court’s ruling to legalize gay marriage. Now the Governor of New York, David Paterson, is directing state agencies to revise their policy on same-sex marriages performed in other states to allow for the recognition of those marriages in New York. This despite the fact that gay marriage is not legal in the state of New York, and attempts to pass legislation have failed because of a Republican controlled state senate, elected by the people.
This is an abuse of powers similar to the judicial activism in California. Governor Paterson is circumventing the legislative process and in doing so the will of the people. What makes Paterson think his personal morals (which we already know to be pretty screwed up) are more important than the democratic process in the state of New York?
Not only will New York be recognizing gay marriages performed in California or Massachusetts, but they will also recognize the laws of other nations! Marriages performed in Canada, Spain, or other countries around the world will be fully recognized according to this new policy. This, despite the fact that the state of New York itself does not allow for gay marriage. This is absolutely nuts!
With all due respect to my fellow conservatives who are against a federal marriage amendment, this is exactly why we need to act. This activism will continue as rogue members of the judicial and executive branches force Americans to accept a deviant behavior (which most find immoral) as a protected class. This should not be so. But, this is the very nature of the radical homosexual agenda.
It’s time we fight fire with fire. Desperate times call for desperate measures. A federal marriage amendment to the constitution should be implemented. Is it unrealistic? Hard to say. It’s incredibly difficult to amend the constitution. However, perceived inevitability should never be used as an excuse to justify inaction. It’s all about principles. We must do what is right, despite the odds being stacked against our cause. And, what is our cause? It is protecting family values, our children, and religious freedoms which are all at the core of what America is all about.
