A Google Boycott? Plus, Celebrating "Earth Hour" by Turning On All My Electronics and Lights at Once!

March 29th, 2008 | by admin |

I’m really thinking about it. Boycotting Google. It’s a novel idea. Could I actually use a different search engine? It’s going to require moving my blog to WordPress and switching from Gmail and hosting my videos somewhere other than YouTube. That’s a lot of work, but I’m seriously considering it all. Here’s why:

Google is on board with many of the liberal causes. This includes the dangerous man-made climate change theory which has been linked to a devaluing of human life. Just check out the search engine site right now. How cute, they’ve turned their lights off (altered the color scheme of Google.com) in celebration of “Earth Hour” which is a designated time to turn off your lights to reduce our carbon footprint.

I’ve got three problems with this. 1. By the Enviro-Wackos own reckoning this will not solve the doomsday predictions and the only thing that would actually do anything would require all of humanity to pretty much give up automobiles all together and for most major industry to just shut down. 2. The whole idea that carbon emissions and other man made behaviors have anything to do with global warming or climate change is highly debatable and many scientists have staked their careers on the line by saying it’s all a bunch of hooey. 3. Radical extreme environmentalism has been linked to a disrespect for human life (which makes sense since humans are the bane of planet earth in their mind) and has led some to consider population control methods which include encouraging abortion and euthanasia.

There are plenty of other reasons to rant about Google but I won’t get into all of them now. Let me just say one more thing. Google does very little to help regulate obscenity on the Internet. They need to offer more options to filter out obscene material for kids, in my mind that sort of responsibility comes with the territory of being such a big content enabler. The best example I can come up with is the fact that on the YouTube website there exists what amounts to softcore pornography and it’s right there with easy access for kids. Suffice it to say, I don’t feel Google is very family friendly.

That’s all for now… Just a few thoughts from a culture warrior.

P.S. I’m celebrating “Earth Hour” by turning on every single piece of electronic equipment, every household appliance, and every light bulb in my home. :)

Wow, that’s a pretty huge leap of logic. You’re considering boycotting Google, because they are supporting an effort to get people to turn off their lights, thereby supporting abortion.

I would love to leave my carbon footprint on algore’s face. Let’s be honest here, environmentalism is a religion with a host of dogmatic beliefs. Yet this religion has been embraced by our media and the weak-minded. It has hijacked our government at all levels, especially the UN. What ever happened to the separation of church and state?

Chris, you know how I feel on this subject I’ve outlined it a dozen times. Man Made Climate Change Theory is linked to radical environmentalism which sees human beings as an out of control member of the animal kingdom.

They see humans as equal to nature and animals if not inferior. They see the human race as a distinct problem that needs to be dealt with.

This is all contrary to the belief we as Christians hold that we are made in God’s image and are different from the rest of creation.

In the eyes of some radical environmentalists (these have been documented by the way) it’s worth aborting a child to reduce C02 which they believe is the cause of man made climate change.

This isn’t a fairytale this is the dark dirty truth of what some radicals believe. They would advocate population control including support for abortions on demand and euthanasia.

I’ve both heard it from the mouth of a radical and I’ve read articles that suggest as much.

Man Made Climate Change Theory is a slippery slope toward worshiping the creation rather than the Creator and devaluing human life.

The theory is debatable and flawed, at it’s roots is connected with radical unethical ideas, and has also become a huge money making scheme.

I like the outdoors as much as anyone, but this radical environmental stuff is just plain bad.

It’s not a slippery slope. There may be some radical environmentalists who are pro-abortion on environmentalist grounds. There have been some “Christians” who are pro-slavery on Biblical grounds. Environmental concern does not lead to abortion any more than Biblical theology leads to slavery.

Yes, I think you’ll find that everyone who knows me considers me a radical environmentalist. I’m not sure if climate change is either real or man-made; and I don’t usually vote for Republicans because they are too liberal for me. Clearly, I am a green monster.
