Will the real Barack Obama please stand up?
February 24th, 2008 | by admin |So, I’ve got some funny stuff to report to you on this Sunday afternoon… I was surfing the web, checking the news headlines, and I ran across this comic from last year that I thought might be informative and entertaining. You might share this illustration with your friends who have decided to swoon over Barack Obama without really knowing anything about the man.

I also saw that Ralph Nader is officially running for president! Can you believe it… for like half a nanosecond I thought about voting for old Ralph in protest. Then I remembered that he’s just like Al Gore only 100 years older.
I wonder when/if we’re going to hear about any other third party candidates announcements in the near future… Hmmm…. I don’t know about you, but I’m still looking for a CONSERVATIVE candidate so I can cast my vote on principles!

How about the candidate from the Prohibitionist party?

I think you should vote Constitution Party. You and Alan Keyes are made for one another.
Andy, do you honestly believe these lies that have been debunked time and time again? I thought you were better than that.
Check out FactCheck.org or snopes.com if you want the actual story rather than the right wing smear.

Chris - The Prohibitionist party? Is there such a thing still? Ha! I was doing research on the temperance movement and was thinking of starting a temperance club where people would meet and discuss literature, philosophy, and current events while advocating alcohol abstinence. Sounds fun doesn’t it?
Political Muse - You just want me to go away don’t you?
As far as the Barack stuff, sure I think his middle name, his parents religion, and the fact that he has ties to Islam are probably blown out of proportion.
However, when you start to take a look at some of the strange anti-American stories that have come out lately: (He doesn’t want to wear a flag pin, doesn’t put his hand over his heart during the national anthem, his wife says she’s only now proud of America, his campaign office displaying a Che Guevera flag, one of his mentors growing up is a Communist….) You start to put together a disturbing puzzle.
Individually these stories may seem silly but together you start to see some trends I think…
Hey Alan Keyes got my vote in the Iowa Caucus in 2000! I almost voted for Gary Bauer but decided on Keyes after hearing him speak a few times. Keyes has kinda done some wacky things since then though…
Good to hear from you PM, keep in touch

Speaking of prohibition, didn’t the Progressive Party start that whole movement? That’s right, Progressives banned alcohol because it is bad for you. Know what else is bad for you? Tobacco, trans fat, and freedom. Is it a coincidence that democrats want to referred to as Progressives instead of liberals?

Andy,
You know better than that. I don’t want you to go away!
You have every right to believe the things you believe but it is my job to come in from time to time and challenge those beliefs.
Have we really come to a point where patriotism is measured in lapel pins and the position of your hand during the national anthem?
As to the Michele Obama comment, I agree it was a stupid blunder but she has clarified that she meant politics in America and not America itself.
Keep on truckin’ Andy, and by the way I liked the beard! However, I didn’t see a lapel pin.
