Dirty talk show hosts! We’re ruining America! Better shut us up!
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007How long now before we have yet another attempt to bring up the Fairness Doctrine? It was done earlier this year, and recent headlines about “evil talk show hosts” lead me to believe it won’t be long before the Fairness Doctrine is brought up yet again.
If it weren’t for the fact that the left is actually serious about wanting government imposed regulations on opinion it would be worth having a good laughing fit over for about five minutes. I mean it’s still very funny, but also somewhat sobering because they’re actually serious. The left wants to shut down talk radio. They’re that afraid of American citizens who entertain, voice opinion, and often times talk a lot more truth than the so called “fair and balanced” news media.
As if the agenda to take away freedom of speech from hosts like myself weren’t offensive enough the liberal democrats go even further. By showing so much concern over radio talk show hosts, they display their true feelings when it comes to the American people. They believe Americans in general are too dumb to make decisions for themselves. You’re too dumb to turn off the radio! You’re too dumb to think critically and weigh my opinion on a matter and compare and contrast it with your own. You’re too stupid to research topics and make judgements on the defining social issues of our times. Don’t you get it? They (the liberal big government left) can do a better job of making these decisions for you. They will play big brother and watch out for you so you don’t have to worry!
Do you want the government to take care of you? If so, you should be a big supporter of the Fairness Doctrine and the efforts underway by the U.S. Congress led by Dirty Harry Reid to smear talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh. It doesn’t stop there either! In the last few days the smear campaign has been in full force with the group Media Matters, which is a far left group funded by secular progressive George Soros, going after Bill O’Reilly. Not to mention the local politicians in California that are attacking Michael Savage. It’s a consorted effort to silence opinion that they don’t agree with. No surprise there, it’s very much in the vain of communism which the left (whether they know it full well or not) support to some degree or another.
I’m not just saying all this because it’s my livelihood either, I’m more offended as a fellow consumer of media than I am as a radio host. I consume media just like you do, and I pick and choose my sources and disseminate what I feel is truthful and try to think critically about things. This isn’t good enough for the far left however. I’ve been called a puppet of the right wing so many times that I lose count. I’m called names like this because what I believe is right and wrong just happens to differ from the liberal secular progressive train of though. How appalling! How intellectually bankrupt I am! Haven’t I had a glass of the kool-aid? Apparently the University system failed me, because I somehow avoided being brainwashed into lining up with the left wing kooks that run the so called “institutions of higher learning”. The worst part is, this crowd is dominated by the worst type of hypocrites. One of the left’s signature causes is freedom of speech! Wait, I guess that only applies when their protecting the rights of child pornographers, oops, my mistake!
