The St. Cloud Times promotes the defeatist mentality, displays a lack of patriotism, and offends civilians and military men and women.
September 11th, 2007 | by admin |“Instead of focusing on the sixth anniversary of 9/11, the nation heard from the president’s top general about a war that really has little to do with that fateful day six years ago.”
That quote, is from an article in the St. Cloud Times on the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. This is absolutely without a doubt defeatist talk, un-American talk, and frankly offensive talk. What else can you expect from the mainstream media which is run by the left? On a day remembering the worst attack against the United States on our own soil, ugly partisan politics are being blatantly shoved down the throats of Americans by the media and left-wing activists and politicians.
The war in Iraq has little to do with 9/11? How in the world can you make such an asinine statement? You really don’t get it do you Mr. Krebs? (Randy Krebs is the Opinion Editor at the St. Cloud Times.) The war in Iraq has everything in the world to do with 9/11! We are in a war with radical Islam. We are in a war against terrorists. We are in a war against Al Quaeda. We are fighting all of these forces in Iraq right now!
Whether or not you agree or disagree with the strategy of opening the Iraq front as a theater of war at the time we did is not the issue. Perhaps we spread our forces too thin. It’s easy to be a Monday morning quarter back. Hind sight is 20/20. Look, the fact is we are facing the enemy right now. We are in a battle against the face of evil.
With all of that said, it’s every-one’s right to question our strategy going forward. Progress reports are important. In fact politicians, media pundits, and activists were calling for an official report from our general on the ground. This was just a few months ago. Now that we are presented with a report that shows progress what happens? The left-wing nuts in the media, in office, and activists are up in arms! What! We can’t be winning this fight? This can’t be right. So let’s discredit the report! Let’s strip General Petraeus of any ounce of credibility. Let’s denounce this work by our men and women fighting overseas!
The MoooveOn.org crowd is on the full offensive. The left-wing media (including the St. Cloud Times) is also pushing this agenda. If these folks were around during the Revolutionary War, World War I, World War II, etc… We probably wouldn’t be here now. Our freedom would’ve been stripped, and the United States would’ve been a story in the history books. They have about as much resolve as Vikings fans!
These left wing nuts need to be shipped to Canada. They’re not acting like Americans. In fact, maybe Mr. Krebs should make that trek? It’s not that far you know. Maybe we can relocate the St. Cloud Times and change their name to the Winnipeg Times?

I’m not so sure that Mr. Krebbs is that far off in asserting that the war in Iraq “has little to do with” the attacks of 9/11. Yes, we are certainly engaged in some kind of war against terror in Iraq, more or less as a component of our nation-building program. But the Al Qaida that we are facing in Iraq has little or no association with the Al Qaida who attacked us on 9/11.

This is not news to me. I quit getting the times years ago.I was growing weary of the constant bombardment of anti family values that show up in the paper. The running of the article that you mention is definately a disgrace. The St Cloud Times is a left leaning paper. You should check on the articles that they run in the paper. Anti Pres. Bush, Anti war, pro homosexual. Count the articles that are run. I believe that most people would be surprised. Also, check the readership of the paper. As with most left leaning papers the St Cloud Times is way down. I personaly try to discourage individuals from subscribing to the paper. I believe that conservative bus. people should refrain from advertising with them as much as posible.
