Why can’t we tolerate radical Islam? Because it’s barbaric.

A reporter embedded with the U.S. military in Iraq reports a government official has recounted a new atrocity by al-Qaida: several instances in which terrorists baked a young boy, then invited his family to lunch with the victim as the main course.

Senator Byrd, the senior member of the U.S. Senate and a former KKK member called the dog fighting issues surrounding NFL quarterback Michael Vick “barbaric.” I actually agree with the senator, but I want to know why killing our own young isn’t considered barbaric? I want to know why actions by followers of radical Islam aren’t considered barbaric? There’s a lot wrong in this world, but I don’t hear anyone on the Senate floor calling some of the worst offenses barbaric.

I’m a bit suspicious as to the credibility of this story; but, if it is true, it certainly is barbaric. I was a bit surprised, when I did a Google search, to find that most of the comments Senators have made using the word “barbaric” do seem to be regarding animal cruelty. There were a few notable exceptions; Sen. Hatch, Sen. Leahy and others have actually referred to the actions of the insurgents as barbaric on the Senate floor.
