Starting this year there is an alcohol ban at Warner Lake on the public beach. So, is this a good thing or bad thing? Is it a victory for families or a restriction of freedoms? I say it’s a victory for families and I’ll tell you why.
Kids are over exposed to alcohol as it is. There are commercials on television, ads on the radio, billboards on our highways, signs at the ballpark, etc… I have many good friends who know how to drink responsibly, and they argue that they should be allowed to do this whether it’s around kids or not. I’m certainly not advocating a return to prohibition, as that clearly was ineffective and spawned a lot more problems than solving any. However, I do think there need to be certain safe environments for families.
One way to ensure that public drunkenness and lewd behavior is under control is to restrict alcohol on a public beach. What alternatives are there? Yes, we could pay someone to patrol the beach and look for those who are intoxicated, but that’s a rather costly solution is it not? We could rely solely on reports of intoxication and bad behavior, but eye witness accounts of intoxication are arbitrary and not as black and white as simply restricting alcohol from the beach altogether.
If you want to drink some suds, find a private beach or get on a boat, or just visit one of the local taverns nearby. Is it really too much to ask adults to keep from drinking at the beach in order to protect our kids and the family environment? I don’t think it’s too much to ask at all.

You and me baby ain’t nothing but mammals, so let’s do it like they do it on the Discovery Channel? No I’m not talking about sex, just the destruction of human life. Read on…
By Maggie Fox, Health and Science Editor Sat Jun 16, 8:10 PM ET (Reuters.com) –
Making human-animal embryos for scientific experiments should be allowed because of the benefits to science and medicine, British experts said in a report released for Sunday. Such embryos should never, however, be implanted into either a woman or an animal, said the Academy of Medical Sciences.
The combinations would include animal eggs and the nucleus, containing the genetic material, of a human being, or human embryos that carry the genetic material of an animal, the independent advisory body said.
A cloning technique called somatic cell nuclear transfer, or SCNT for short, involves removing the nucleus from an egg cell and replacing it with the nucleus of a cell from the animal to be cloned — perhaps a skin cell, for instance. Scientists have tried this using, for example, an egg cell from a cow and a human nucleus.
There are no laws against it in either Britain or the United states and the independent Academy said it should remain legal.
Allowing human embryos to be mixed with animal embryos. The very thought sounds like some sort of sick science fiction / horror film. It’s all in the same of science they say! If we can destroy innocent human lives and better our own lives, what’s wrong with that? It’s the convenience we need. It’s the advancement we desire. You know what it really is? It’s a lack of dignity for any human life. How do you think anyone could justify something like this?
I think it’s because some scientists, and human secularists don’t see any difference between humans and animals. They see them as all the same. We’re no different than a cockroach… In fact, there was a story the other day comparing the cockroach’s brain to a human brain! This is the “save the whales, kill the babies crowd.” They’re all out of whack in their heads and it shows when you read garbage like this. This is the prevailing wisdom and thought though, and unless you make sure your voice is heard, this is the kind of stuff that will continue to happen. I bring it to your attention for a reason so you can get fed up with it enough to make your voice heard! For all the “progressive” thought and “advancement” of our species it sure sounds like there are plenty of humans out there who would be content to kill off half the population for the betterment of the other half. After all we’re just animals!

So I was sitting down Sunday night eating dinner and unwinding from the weekend. That’s when I saw a tribute to John Wayne who would’ve been celebrating his 100th birthday this year. I don’t know a whole lot about The Duke, but I like one of the things his daughter-in-law said he always used to say. Apparently John Wayne always thought that producers in Hollywood that put out explicit films should have to sit on the couch and watch it with their kids and grandkids and then maybe they’d think twice about putting out filthy films. I wish that were true, and I wish we had people in Hollywood who felt like John Wayne did about family, country, and values. Just a thought.

I hesitate to even write this article because I don’t want to be accused of what I’m accusing FoxNews.com of doing. However, I’ll give it my best shot. FoxNews.com as of late Friday night was running a story and graphic that prominently displays a pornographic websites address. This is their top story, and it not only shows the address to this website but it also shows a woman dancing around a pole, nude. This is disgusting, and wrong, and Fox News should be ashamed of itself! The story is unique, but it could’ve been censored for younger eyes which might be innocently viewing this “news” site. I’m really really disgusted with this kind of “in your face” sexuality with no concern for our kids. I’m really worked up over it!
The gist of the news story is this: A farmers field has been painted to advertise a pornographic website, which can be viewed by airplane. The field is located near a London airport. Fox News did not need to show a picture of this, but they did. They reported on a controversial image and in effect furthered the controversy. This is no doubt a way to boost their ratings and page views and it’s simply wrong.
I hold their parent company, News Corporation, and Fox News responsible for this, and I am getting sick and tired of their tactics as they sensationalize the news, show no respect or regard for families that may be watching their network or viewing their website, and add to the filth out there already destroying our culture. Bill O’Reilly, author of the book Culture Warrior, ought to speak out about this. He won’t though, and that is sad.
Maybe some people think I’m making a big deal out of nothing, but I really see this as an assault on our children and families by an organization that is supposed be presenting news and information, not advertising pornography. I whole heartily object to their tactics!

On a side note… I was in Target today at Crossroads Mall and ran across an individual wearing a t-shirt that read as follows: “Caution: Large (MALE REPRODUCTIVE ORGAN.)” You can guess what word was actually on the shirt. I almost said something to this individual, but I didn’t. I wanted to say, “What is wrong with you? Take that shirt off, their are kids walking around all over the place. Can’t a family go to the mall without having to be force fed that kind of language?”
I’m not trying to come across as some sort of prude, but we’re headed down the wrong path and we’re headed their fast as a society. There is no respect for life, there is no respect for sexuality, there is no respect for women, there is no respect for country, there is no respect for family, and there is no respect for God. What can we do to fight this sort of stuff? Does it upset you as much as it does me? Am I overreacting? Please tell me if I am! I don’t think I am, I just see what I see, and I have to scratch my head and sigh.

Hillary Clinton is no Mother Teresa. Far from it in fact. So why would she use the image of one of the greatest humanitarians and advocates for life ever in a political ad? Well because in her mind she is Mother Teresa. Never mind that she supports the murder of innocent children. Read on…
June 15, 2007 (Politico.com) — The Clinton campaign removed a photograph of Hillary Clinton with Mother Teresa from a campaign video after a complaint from the late nun’s religious order, a Clinton spokesman said.
“Sen. Clinton was proud to have worked with and known Mother Teresa,” said Clinton spokesman Phil Singer. “Her order asked us to remove it from the video, so we did.”
The head of a politically conservative Catholic group, Fidelis, said he brought the video to the attention of Sister Nirmala, Teresa’s successor at the Superior General of the India-based Missionaries of Charity. Fidelis president Joseph Cella called it “wholly inappropriate, disrespectful and disturbing that Hillary Clinton shamelessly exploited Mother’s image as a political tool.”
“Hillary in effect, was the face of America, in Africa, in India…” the ad says; the original version used the picture as the words “in India” were narrated.
Cella said that in his letter to Nirmala, “We pointed out that the use of Blessed Teresa’s image was particularly inappropriate and disturbing given Sen. Clinton’s staunch support of abortion both here in the United States and abroad. Mother Teresa tirelessly fought to protect unborn children, while Hillary Clinton staunchly supports abortion on demand in all nine months of pregnancy, including partial birth abortion and taxpayer funding of abortion.”
Clinton’s spokesman, Singer, stressed that the photo was removed at the behest of the missionary order, not of any other group.
At least they complied, but can you believe that? Not a good way to win the Catholic vote Mrs. Clinton!

I love how people want to turn the illegal immigration issue into a racism debate. I think everyone who has stood up to try and enforce the laws, myself included, has experienced this agenda. Want another example? I’d be happy to provide one:
By Bob Unruh June 15, 2007 (WorldNetDaily.com) –
A newly appointed parks commissioner in Kansas City, Mo., is being condemned by the city council for being part of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps – which wants to secure the American border against unauthorized individuals, military and contraband.
“This is one step from the KKK,” city council member Beth Gottstein told the Kansas City Star. “My world is totally rocked by this. We fight this every day. I am grieving for my friends in the Hispanic community.”
Frances Semler, 73, was appointed to the city position just recently. This week she attended her first meeting of the group assigned to acquire, build, develop and maintain parks. And after the controversy erupted, she offered Mayor Mark Funkhouser her resignation, but he declined.
“I told her to hang in here,” he said.

Someone who should be applauded for trying to protect our border by helping out an organization concerned with our national security is painted as a member of the KKK (one of the most despicable organizations ever.)
Boy it sure is getting tough to stand up for anything that’s right in this country isn’t it?

While the debate rages on over how to best secure our border, and what to do with illegal immigrants living in the United States, there continues to be a lot “behind the scenes” stuff that the mainstream media doesn’t seem to focus on. There is a mind boggling effort by President Bush to allow our borders to be overrun by Mexico and Canada. The idea of a North American Union isn’t so far fetched as it sounds. Read this and tell me you’re not concerned:
Posted Thursday, June 14, 2007 (WorldNetDaily.com) –In an effort to ensure Mexican trucks will begin rolling across the U.S. on schedule, the Bush administration is pressing the Senate to not take any action on a bill passed overwhelmingly by the House that essentially would block the project.
Sources within the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation have confirmed in background conversations that the panel has put on hold taking any action on the Safe American Roads Act of 2007, the bill the House passed May 15 by a vote of 411-3.
At the encouragement of the White House, the senators on the transportation committee are taking the position that the requirements of the Safe American Roads Act were wrapped into the provisions of H.R. 2206, the Iraq supplemental funding bill, signed May 25 by President Bush. At the moment, the staff of the Senate transportation panel has no plans to discuss a Senate bill comparable to Safe American Roads Act before the July recess.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that this isn’t getting more media attention? Look, I generally don’t get too upset with President Bush because I can truly appreciate his moral leadership on many issues, but this one dealing with open borders and our national security is driving me nuts! It’s no wonder a lot of Republicans are scratching their heads trying to figure this guy out sometimes…
